Today is World Ocean Day – a celebration of the ocean which connects us all and an important day for us to reflect on our commitment to sustainability and how we can limit our impact on our land, waters and ocean.

Shandong Province is located on the eastern coast of China. Its coastline accounts for 1/6 of the country's total, with a sea area of 160,000 square kilometers. Its marine resource richness index ranks first in the country.

In 2021, Shandong's marine industry GDP will be 14.9 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%, accounting for 18% of the province's GDP and 16.5% of the national marine industry GDP, with 6 major marine industries ranking first in the country.
